Decision approaching!

Snack time!  I had photos, but the carrots made gross-looking orange stains on the towel, so I’m omitting them for now.  Imagine that you see here a plum, a small handful of mixed nuts, and some carrot and celery sticks.  Later, I had a strawberry banana Wallaby yogurt.

Then, FINALLY, it was time for my run.  Time was on a roller coaster today, but it really dragged for the last few hours of my work day.  (Don’t worry, things still got done.)

Today’s 3 miles: 14:45 (includes .3 mile warm-up, for a total of 1.06 miles), 13:10, 11:36.  All on the treadmill because it was gray and seemed like it would surely rain again…though now it’s a perfect evening and I wish I had run outside.  Nonetheless, my times were very fast for the treadmill; I don’t know why, but I am so, so slow on the treadmill.  I have a suspicion it is boredom, so today I played a game for the last 1.5 miles.  I went up to 6.2 mph and reduced the speed by .2 mph every minute, then walked for a minute and repeated.  (TMI, I didn’t time my eating very well, so there were a few other unanticipated breaks.  I am looking forward to a more structured workday during which I don’t get so distracted and lose track of time at the end of every day.)

Then it was time for 3 sets of 21 curls, 3 sets of dumbell lunges, and 3 sets of rows (which I did with an exercise band).  Back upstairs, it was time for abs.  I’m still working on these abs from Wiggs, especially when on-demand isn’t working for the third day in a row because Comcast is just THE BEST and most reliable cable service.   I just can’t get some of those to work very well after I run; I think it’s my weak psoas, which I had better get to working on since I have many, many miles ahead of me.

Dinner

My wrap rut continues – they’re just so easy after work, and without them I worry I wouldn’t be getting enough carbs.

Broccoli, pesto, tempeh, yellow cherry tomatoes, lentil sprouts, nayonaise, and reduced fat Organic Valley cheddar

It was really perfect after my run.  I also ate two large wedges of watermelon.

The pesto I’ve been using in my lunch and on these wraps is a wonderful premade pesto:

pesto

It’s so yummy, and the flavor is really dense so it just takes a bit to add some great zing.  It’s by Le Grand (that’s their English site, mais il y en a en français aussi).  The site has a lot of really great recipes, too – I love this product even more after reading their little stories.

For the record, I felt a little silly buying prepared pesto since basil season is in full swing, but it’s been so nice to have it in the fridge the past few weeks!   I’m looking forward to trying their other sauces – they have a sesame and pink peppercorn one that sounds delicious!

We’ve been watching Drop Dead Diva…I don’t know if I am really into it.  Either the girly moments are too girly, or I’m still not girly enough.  It’s a good distraction from the decision I’m about to make – I’ll know more tomorrow.

And, my man just got asked to be the best man in a wedding!  It’s two weeks before my half marathon, but I’m sure we’ll find a way :)

I have a feeling one of the fig truffles is in my near future…then it’s time to clean up from the day and hit the hay.
